American Apparel To Produce Russia’s Olympic Wear In The USA

Just when Ralph Lauren seemed to have staved off detractors of his Olympic uniforms, American Apparel is making him look even worse!

On the heels of Ralph Lauren pledging to make the Olympic team’s uniforms in the USA for the 2014 winter games, Dov Charney revealed he’ll be doing the same thing — for Russia.

Apparently Russia and AA have been discussing the partnership since 2011 because, according to Dov:

“[Russian Olympic team representatives] said they didn├óΓé¼Γäót want anything that was made in China. It├óΓé¼Γäós not just for the uniforms ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ it├óΓé¼Γäós also the merchandise.”

He also added that the US Olympic Committee, who signed off on Lauren’s “Made in China” designs, never even approached them about any kind of deal.

And for a final low blow, Dov’s offered to help Ralph Lauren make new uniforms in time for the London Olympics at his LA-based factory.

We have a feeling Lauren will decline, but it’s the thought that counts, right?
