That means after years and years of gays and lesbians being denied one last meeting with their partner before dying or undergoing a life-threatening operation, the LGBT community finally got the visitation rights they deserved.
Although Mitt Romney hasn’t been very clear about
anything his stance on the issue over the last two decades, one of his top advisors made it pretty dang clear he would repeal any equality that Obama has instituted.
While clarifying his strong support for a federal ban on same-sex marriage, Bay Buchanan declared he would leave other LGBT issues up to the states and explained:
“Governor Romney supports a federal marriage amendment to the Constitution that defines marriage as an institution between a man and a woman. Governor Romney also believes, consistent with the 10th Amendment, that it should be left to states to decide whether to grant same-sex couples certain benefits, such as hospital visitation rights and the ability to adopt children.”
Ugh! Why Mittens? Why?!
Stripping away something as simple as hospital visitation rights is hateful discrimination — pure and simple!
We believe Romney when he says he knows how to run a business, but how can he run a country when he doesn’t care for an ever-growing part of the population?
