Boston Bombing Update: Tsarnaev’s Friend Released On Bail, Charged With Lying To Investigators

robel phillilpos boston bombing suspect charged lying investigators

If the allegations are true, this kid probably won’t be welcome at the upcoming Boston Strong benefit concert!

Robel Phillipos, arrested last week in connection with abetting those suspects believed responsible for the terrible bombings in Boston, was released today on $100K bail.

The 19-year-old man who know the Tsarnaev Brothers from UMass – Dartmouth is charged with making false statements to investigators in connection to the attacks and is now required to wear a monitoring ankle bracelet and to stay under home confinement.

Robel allegedly lied to cops who questioned him about Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on the wake of the bombings, and they’re pretty sure they can prove it!

One government official said:

“The government stands by its allegations and is confident it can prove beyond a reasonable doubt.”

The defense maintains Robel is a civic-minded dude who was “frightened and confused’’ by the questioning.

Both sides are filing for a probable cause hearing for Robel by May 16th.

All this as cemeteries everywhere continue denying Tamerlan Tsarnaev remains a spot within their walls.
