We understand the idea behind asking Gilbert Gottfried about the whole Paula Deen shenanigans, because he too was under the gun about awful things HE said after the Japanese tsunami. What we don’t understand is why someone would go out of their way to ask him.
Anyway, here’s what he said:
├óΓé¼┼ôI’ve been lucky that I’ve never gotten in trouble over the Internet or over Twitter and I’ve never lost any jobs!├óΓé¼┬¥
That’s cool, but that’s more about himself and less about Paula’s current problems! And we all already know he’s no longer a famous insurance duck because of his own awful comments. That’s nothing new! Great joke!
├óΓé¼┼ôOn another day there’s going to be someone else who is the next archenemy of society. I think they should leave everybody alone at this point! I think the Internet and the world in general is one big lynch mob nowadays.
“I feel an almost sentimental fondness for old-time lynch mobs. At least then they had to throw a jacket on, go outside, get their hands dirty. Now you can sit around in your underwear on your computer typing out insults.”
Because the issues at hand are racial in nature — both from his past and the current ones with Paula — we’re pretty sure he shouldn’t be using the phrase “lynch mob” and painting the rich white lady as the victim.
Just a thought! Ha!
You can all rest easy now that you know what Gilbert has to say!
