Start spreading the news! Jason Collins is officially a New Yorker!
After breaking ground and becoming the first openly gay NBA player in the offseason, the big man kicked off the season with no team to play for. However, the Brooklyn Nets decided to give him a shot and signed him to a 10-day contract!
Well, it looks like he’s there to stay for now as the team has decided to sign him for the remainder of the season!!
Jason hasn’t had too much success with the Nets thus far as he’s averaging less than a point and a rebound per game, and he didn’t play at all in their last two games. However, Brooklyn is pretty thin at the center position so they could be looking to give him a little more playing time!
There are only 18 games left in the regular season, so hopefully Jason is able to make the most of it so he lands on a roster next year!
Congrats, big guy!
