We have officially hit the halfway point of Dancing With The Stars, so what better way to celebrate than with a little party?
This week was party anthem week, meaning contestants had a chance to have a
little LOT of fun with their routines, and they decided to call in the most qualified party rocker out there as Redfoo of LMFAO guest judged for the evening!!
NeNe Leakes and Tony Dovolani had an emotional night last week after some heated bickering during rehearsals. However, the duo managed to bounce back stronger than ever as the Real Housewife put the HOT in Hotlanta and they did a salsa to Nelly‘s Hot In Herre that earned a 33!
At the very beginning of the competition, Candace Cameron Bure made it clear that she would be keeping things fairly conservative during her dance routines. However, she once again proved to have some wiggle room with her rules and pulled off a sexy cha cha with Mark Ballas, but she ended up being one of the low scores of the night with a 32.
Last week, James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd earned the first perfect score of the season, which shot them to the top of the leaderboard! The duo tried to keep the ball rolling and channeled their inner T-Birds and Pink Ladies as they earned a 35 for their routine to the Grease classic You’re The One That I Want!
Danica McKellar also had her best performance last week, and her high score of 39 made her finally realize she DEFINITELY has a shot at the Mirror Ball Trophy! The actress looked to ride the wave of momentum as she and Val Chmerkovskiy earned a 36 for their cha cha!
We got a small pause in the party action before Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy‘s routine as they were clearly frustrated with their score from last week and knew they could do better. We saw a much more emotional side of Maks as he broke down and had to be comforted by the olympian during rehearsals! All of the frustration seemed to pay off as they FINALLY notched a perfect score for an extremely intimate tango which has us wondering if these two are a little more than dance partners!
Drew Carey had a rough night last week and predicted tonight would be the night he was sent home. Cheryl Burke did her best to raise his spirits by bringing in a few extra dancers and letting him be a pimp for the evening! Unfortunately, his prediction ended up being correct and he was SENT HOME after earning a 32!
Charlie White and Sharna Burgess came THIS close to perfection last week, but sadly the olympian dropped his cane during the routine! Well this time they decided to go prop-free and seemed to be VERY inspired by Redfoo’s performance of Let’s Get Ridiculous as they did a glow in the dark cha cha that earned them a 36!
The night was closed out with a bang as Amy Purdy decided to have a little wedding reception on stage before Derek Hough assumed the role of a wedding crasher! The duo once again proved they’re a force to be reckoned with as their jaw-dropping routine got them the second highest score of the night with a 38!
The competition definitely seems to have picked up as all of the dancers are certainly hitting their stride, and it seems like every week a new team is on top of the leaderboard! All we know is we can’t wait to see what they have in store for latin night next week!
Ch-ch-check out the routines (below)!
