Researchers say drinking A LOT of the caffeinated beverage just might prevent you from getting type 2 diabetes!
Um… How excellent is that news?!?
The study was carried out by Harvard University (so you know it├óΓé¼Γäós legit) and examined the link between coffee consumption and diabetes risk.
Participants who drank MORE coffee were at far LESS risk of getting the disease!
And further more, those who reduced their coffee consumption then became more likely to develop diabetes! Researchers found that people whose intake fell by one of two cups a day had a 17% greater risk of getting type 2 diabetes!
Those who had the highest consumption had the lowest diabetic risk – a third lower than those who drink one cup a day or fewer!
One of the study├óΓé¼Γäós head scientists, Dr. Hu, explained just what his group found, saying:
“Changes in consumption habits appear to affect diabetes risk in a relatively short amount of time. Our findings├óΓé¼┬ªprovide novel evidence that changes in habits are related to diabetes risk.├óΓé¼┬¥
But is it caffeine that├óΓé¼Γäós causing this breakthrough finding?
Probably not, because Hu and his team found similar results in decaf coffee drinkers!
So brew away, coffee lovers! A cup a day keeps the diabetes away!
Scratch that. Make that SEVERAL cups!
