State Farm And CarMax Are The First Sponsors To Cut Ties With Los Angeles Clippers Following Racist Remarks By Donald Sterling!

State Farm and CarMax have walked away from the Clippers following Donald Sterling's racist remarks!

We all know the jingle “Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there!” However, this is one instance where it’s probably a good thing they AREN’T there!

The insurance company has JUST announced this morning that they would be ending their sponsorship with the Los Angeles Clippers following the racist remarks of owner Donald Sterling!

CEO Steve Stoute made the announcement this morning on the ESPN radio program The Herd with Colin Cowherd, saying:

“I├óΓé¼Γäóm telling the brands, ‘Let├óΓé¼Γäós pull sponsorship,’ starting with State Farm. When you have things like this taking place, somebody has to stand up.”

Steve says this will NOT affect the deal they have in place with Clippers point guard Chris Paul, who has become the face of their commercials in recent years!

CarMax also said they would be cutting their ties to the franchise, saying they found Donald’s comments “unacceptable!” A rep for the company released a statement, saying:

“These views directly conflict with CarMax├óΓé¼Γäós culture of respect for all individuals. While we have been a proud Clippers sponsor for 9 years and support the team, fans and community, these statements necessitate that CarMax end its sponsorship.”

While these are the first two companies to walk out on the Clippers, the team still has a TON of other sponsors, including Anheiser-Busch, Virgin America, and many more!

Hopefully more sponsors will follow in their footsteps and stand up to these nasty comments made by Donald Sterling!
