NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has been catching some heat lately.
And if you ask us, he totes deserves it!
We previously mentioned that football star Ray Rice has been suspended indefinitely after a video of him brutalizing his wife in an elevator surfaced.
Rice was originally only suspended for two games, but when a video of him dragging his now wife out of an elevator started making its rounds, the Baltimore Ravens and NFL both changed their tune for some reason. Everyone knew he did it, we’re not sure why a video changed that, but whatevs.
After people finally saw the full video, cries for Goodell’s resignation started pouring in because of the slap on the wrist of a punishment he dealt to Rice.
When asked if Rice might ever play in the NFL again, putting his foot in his mouth Goodell said:
“I don’t rule that out, but he would have to make sure that we are fully confident that he is addressing this issue. Clearly, he has paid a price for the actions he’s already taken.”
So even though people are screaming for blood, Goodell is willing to give this violent, woman-abusing man a second chance.
We think it’s about time for big change in the NFL. Maybe Goodell should also be suspended for not being as tough on this as he should!
