It’s currently alligator hunting season in Florida and two men, Keith Kelley & Kelly Sziy, just bagged a BIG one!
The gator, which they named Lumpy, was 13-feet, four-inches-long and weighed 765-pounds!! That’s nutso!
Craziest part? They did it all bare handed!! They only had a rope, some hooks and their raw manliness!
The men had been tracking the gator for several months before he finally went for their bait… and then it was game on!
Keith Kelley said:
“He got close enough to where I guess he couldn’t withstand the bait. Finally, it was just his night. Put some leather gloves on and I told Kelly: we’re going to have to get him by hand and that’s all it is to it. Hang on.”
Cut to four hours later and Lumpy was being weighed at an alligator farm where he broke the scale!!
Sadly, Lumpy was killed for his meat — but at least his body didn’t go to waste, and there’s a real reason to have alligator season in Florida.
It’s possible that Lumpy was the biggest gator ever caught by hand in Florida, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife.
What these men did is impressive, but did they really have to kill Lumpy? Poor gator. They should consider themselves lucky it wasn’t Lumpy celebrating his impressive, bared-mouthed human catch! We’d think a gator that special should’ve been able to live his life where people could enjoy seeing his size!
