Looks like Taylor Swift is going to have A LOT of angry fans on her hands!
The 1989 singer has removed her albums from the popular music streaming service Spotify.
By ‘her albums’ we mean like every. single. one. that was available!
The decision, however, isn’t all that surprising considering 1989 wasn’t even available on the service due to a “decision by the artist” according to their spokesperson.
Well, Tay-Tay’s people were NOT happy with Spotify’s finger-pointing so they removed all of her music in retaliation!
Spotify ain’t taking this slight by the pop princess laying down, though!
They released a statement on their website, saying:
“We love Taylor Swift, and our more than 40 million users love her even more ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ nearly 16 million of them have played her songs in the last 30 days, and she’s on over 19 million playlists.
We hope she’ll change her mind and join us in building a new music economy that works for everyone. We believe fans should be able to listen to music wherever and whenever they want, and that artists have an absolute right to be paid for their work and protected from piracy. That’s why we pay nearly 70% of our revenue back to the music community.
PS ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ Taylor, we were both young when we first saw you, but now there’s more than 40 million of us who want you to stay, stay, stay. It’s a love story, baby, just say, Yes.”
DAMN, gurl! They’re begging to get back together more than the guy that We Are Never, Ever, Ever Getting Back Together is about!
Seriously, though, they even made a HIGHlarious playlist begging her to come back (above)!!
On the realz, think about who you’re REALLY hurting in this situation… the fans!
If you’ve taken down all your albums, then how are people who might be converted into a fan gonna buy your music now?
On blind faith? Not likely gurl…
