Throughout the years, Eli Roth has gained a reputation for his “torture porn” splatter flicks, featuring grotesque and disturbing images.
However, even by his standards, this is very dark.
A video has recently surfaced on the internet showing seemingly random clips from Marilyn Manson music videos for songs off of his 2012 album, Born Villain.
But between the short clips is an unexplained sequence which depicts Lana Del Rey being raped by Eli, and it’s understandably creating quite a stir.
Many originally believed that the clip was unused footage for one of Marilyn’s previous videos, however, the singer’s rep Kathryn Frazier has denied such allegations, saying:
“Manson did not direct this, shoot it, nor was it for a Marilyn Manson video or outtake footage made by him or to be used by him with his music. It must be a fan video splicing up old Manson video footage with someone else’s Lana Del Rey footage.”
While the rest of the clips are clearly from Marilyn’s music videos for No Reflection and Slo-Mo-Tion, the disturbing footage in between does not appear to be from any of his previous videos.
However, it still doesn’t explain where the clip came from, and it seems highly unlikely that a fan would be able to get their hands on this unseen footage of Eli and Lana.
And if that’s not strange enough, Eli has previously revealed that he worked on a video with Marilyn at around roughly the same time, but the footage was deemed too “sick” to use at the time.
So far, there seems to be no explanation about where the clip came from and what its original purpose was. We have reached out to both Lana and Eli for comment and are standing by for their response.
