From the moment the world found out about her pregnancy, Eva Mendes has stayed radio silent on the topic of her child.

Now she’s talking about baby Esmeralda Amada a bit, but it could be the last time; Eva is adamant on letting her daughter grow up normally.

So we better get all the deets now!

In an interview with Violet Grey‘s digital magazine, The Violet Files, the actress opens up about her and Ryan Goslings‘ love child as well as the new prospects of motherhood.

Although she has said in past interviews before she wasn’t interested in having her own children, it’s pretty clear Eva is in love with her daughter!

Why wouldn’t she be? We bet she’s the sweetest thing EVER!

Eva talked about why she and Ryan chose the name “Esmeralda,” saying:

“Ryan and I both love the Esmeralda character from the Victor Hugo novel, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and we just think it’s a beautiful name. Amada was my grandmother’s name. It means ‘beloved’ in Spanish.”

Adorable! That name sounds VERY fitting for the couple’s first child!

Despite their fame, the two are definitely going to try and keep their lives as private as possible so their daughter can grow up:

“Whether we like it or not, privacy is going to be very difficult for Esmeralda. I think it’s unfair, but that’s our reality.

Ryan and I decided early on to give her as much privacy as we could. And my pregnancy was the first opportunity to give her that.”

It’s great to know they have their priorities in order!

The two have always been pretty private in their own relationship and lives, so it’ll be interesting to see what other measures they’re going to take to protect Esmeralda!

Motherhood has been easy peasy for the 40-year-old actress. However, life hasn’t been TOO good to her daughter — yet.

Eva joked:

“Everything is a struggle for her. For instance, I haven’t thrown up since the 90s and she’s thrown up twice since we started this interview.

Motherhood is cake compared to what it’s like to be a baby.”

HA! Nice to see Eva still has that wonderful sense of humor of hers!

Hopefully we’ll all get a glimpse of the adorable bundle of joy!! That’s a HUGE thing to wish for since these two aren’t on any social media platforms, but anything can happen!
