More Leaked Emails Show Joel McHale Asking Sony For A Discount On A TV After They Canceled Community! Classic!

When it comes to leaked emails, Joel McHale can rest easy. Mainly because he’s not a racist or a jerk.

Looking for the silver lining after his show Community was canceled by Sony, Joel asked for something big — a discount on a Sony TV he wanted.

In this very real email to Sony Pictures Television president Steve Mosko‘s assistant, Joel fulfilled every fired employee’s dream, writing:

Hello Fayanne,

It’s Joel McHale. You might remember me from such canceled Sony tv shows as├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥Community.

Very sad.

So when I was talking to Steve about the show ending last Friday, I asked about a discount on a Sony tv. He said of course. He’s the greatest as you know. I didn’t want to bother him with the specific details of the screen I want so I thought I would bother you. I hope that is it cool.

It’s below. You can check with Steve obviously if this all sounds strange.

I’m not sure how this all works but I’m happy to send a credit card number wherever necessary.

Thanks Fayanne. I’m very much going to miss working at Sony.

What he was asking for was Sony’s X950B 4K Ultra HD TV, a 65-inch monster that retails for $8,000.

After being emailed by his assistant, Mosko responded:

“how much is it? just get it…put it against community. deal w money later”

The TV ended up being on sale for $6,000 anyway so they totally got it for him.

Joel’s polite, humorous email is nothing to be ashamed of and hardly apology worthy.

Though he did take to Twitter to explain himself anyway, saying:

“U bet your sweet ass I want my employee discount! 4K’s r outstanding”

Ha! He only did the same thing pretty much anyone else in that position would do.

Community had a great run and the least they can do is give their flagship 4K Ultra HD TV to its star at a good price!

Poking more fun at himself, Joel later tweeted that he “should have asked for this one” and shared a link to a $25,000 85-inch 4K Ultra HD TV! Ha!!
