Reese Witherspoon has been having what we’d like to affectionately call a Witherspoonassaince.
With critically acclaimed films such as The Good Lie and Wild, Reese has been a tour de force in 2014.
However, in a recent interview with Charlie Rose, Reese talked about how her career took a dip after Walk The Line and her divorce from her husband of eight years, Ryan Phillippe, back in 2005.
“Phew, that was a tough year that followed. I got divorced the next year and I spent a few years just trying to feel better… You know, you can’t really be very creative when you feel like your brain is scrambled eggs.
I was just kind of floundering career-wise cause I wasn’t making things I was passionate about, I was just kinda working. It was really clear the audiences weren’t responding to anything I was putting out there.”
For the record, Reese made the rom-com Penelope in 2006 and thriller Rendition in 2007. Neither made a splash at the box office.
Well, we’re glad she’s back on the top of her game! You should never let an ex get you down!
