The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is doing what it can to restore life to a real zombie cat!!
Bart the cat was hit by a car, appeared dead and was buried by his owner in Tampa, Florida.
Problem was, Bart wasn’t dead!
But five days later … he emerged from the grave!!! Just like a scene out of Pet Sematary!
The Humane Society said:
“The cat appeared to be lifeless and the owner buried him. Five days later, the cat showed up in a neighbors yard, alive! He had dug himself out of the grave and slowly made his way back home, albeit in weak, dehydrated and in need of medical attention.”
Since his owner was unable to pay for his care, the Humane Society took Bart in.
But just think about what that cat went through: Five days. Underground. Buried alive. Digging and digging and digging…
This cat deserves a life of pure luxury from now on!! Sadly, Bart still isn’t out of the woods.
He has facial wounds, a broken jaw and will lose his one eye. He’s having surgery today to insert a temporary feeding tube, wire his jaw and remove his destroyed peeper.
Thankfully, he’s expected to make a full recovery!! We’re pretty sure he used up all of his nine lives for this trick!
