ESPN anchor Shelley Smith is one brave woman!

After the sports journalist was diagnosed with breast cancer four months ago, she decided to face her illness head on by shaving her head… PUBLICLY.

The longtime TV personality took to Twitter to share some snaps of her brave decision and we couldn’t be more impressed.

Awww, we’re so happy Smith wasn’t alone on what we imagine was such a nerve wracking day.

Considering Shelley has been with ESPN for 19 YEARS, we bet she’s surrounded by a large group of supportive co-workers. If you don’t remember, the network rallied around longtime anchor and cancer victim Stuart Scott until his untimely death in January of this year.

We wish the 57-year-old the best of luck on her journey.
