Neil Patrick Harris’ Oscars Had The Lowest Ratings In Years!

no title

We thought Neil Patrick Harris did a pretty good job hosting the Oscars, but apparently it wasn’t enough.

It looks like this year’s show may have had the lowest ratings in four years!

Based on the early numbers, NPH’s Oscars viewership is down 10 percent from Ellen DeGeneres‘ 2014 show.

Of course, it’s not necessarily fair to blame Neil for lack of interest.

It’s always helpful for ratings when people really connect to the movies that are up for awards — it’s especially good if there are some big blockbusters in the mix.

This year’s selection of art films and prestige biopics may have been critically lauded, but there were definitely some audience favorites — like The LEGO Movie for instance — that were completely ignored by the Academy.

We’ll have to wait and see if producers end up making any big changes to try to turn the ratings around next year.
