Bill Cosby is still telling jokes, despite more allegations of sexual misconduct being brought up against him.
The 77-year-old is scheduled to do a stand-up routine this Friday, and even released a statement via his reps thanking his fans.
“Dear Fans: For 53 years you have given me your love, support, respect and trust. Thank you! I can’t wait to see your smiling faces and warm your hearts with a wonderful gift ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ LAUGHTER. I’m ready. Hey, Hey, Hey ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ I’m far from finished. Sincerely, Bill Cosby.”
However, one woman has just come forward claiming Cosby took advantage of her respect and trust. And her tale is eerily similar to 30+ other women.
Heidi Thomas was an aspiring model and actress back in 1984. She was invited over to read lines with Cosby at his home in St. Louis, when he offered her a glass of Chablis.
After drinking it, Thomas says she blacked out. When she awoke, she alleges Cosby was naked and forcing himself in her mouth.
Thomas says she kept quiet for 30 years because she didn’t want her mother, Greta Lea Johnson, to know. But Johnson was able to piece together what allegedly happened to her daughter. That freed Thomas to speak out:
“I finally find out that she knows, that Dad knows, that they are supporting me if I want to go public…Then it became full steam ahead, I want to empower people. I was beginning to think though…that whole keeping-your-silence is a form of acceptance. It’s not supporting the women who are coming forward. It’s not helping … and if enough people make enough of a fuss, maybe we can get a culture that starts to listen.”
To this day, Cosby continues to profess his innocence.
