OMG, huge news, sci-fi fans!
That Blade Runner sequel Ridley Scott has been teasing? It’s really happening!
The actor — who originated the role of the replicant hunter way back in 1982 — is said to have LOVED the script and will officially be reprising his role in Blade Runner 2: Still Running!
OK, it’s not really called that.
But it is really happening! It even has a director attached — Prisoners‘ Denis Villeneuve!
Producers Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson announced the news in a joint statement, declaring:
“We are honored that Harrison is joining us on this journey with Denis Villeneuve, who is a singular talent, as we experienced personally on Prisoners. Hampton [Fancher] and Michael [Green], with Ridley Scott, have crafted a uniquely potent and faithful sequel to one of the most universally celebrated films of all time, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with this amazing, creative team.”
Blade Runner is such a cool movie that revolutionized the way people view science fiction, paving the way for dark, gritty futures.
OK, so the future of Blade Runner was supposed to take place in 2019, but hey, we could invent robots and flying cars in the next four years…
Stranger things have happened.
We mean, we bet you never thought you’d see Harrison Ford come back for Blade Runner 2 either! LOLz!
