You’ve gotta love the Internet!
Robert De Niro recently found out that he had a $6.4 million tax lien put on him due to not paying Uncle Sam.
Well, it turns out it was just because the IRS had been sending letters to the wrong address! The actor’s rep commented on the situation, saying:
“IRS notifications of taxes due had been sent to an old address, currently an unoccupied commercial building. Once Mr. De Niro learned of this tax delinquency, he had a check for the full amount hand-delivered to their office yesterday.”
According to reports, the unpaid taxes came from his 2013 1040, which listed a Tribeca condominium building’s address, which Robert was developing with his real estate partners.
But guess how he found out he owed the money? From a report about it online! LOLz!
An honest mistake, right?!
