Ian McKellen Takes On Benedict Cumberbatch & Robert Downey, Jr. With His Own Version Of Sherlock In Mr. Holmes!

Benedict Cumberbatch and Robert Downey, Jr. better watch their backs!

That’s because Ian McKellen is giving their interpretations of Sherlock Holmes a run for their money in the first trailer for his new movie Mr. Holmes.

The American and British co-production is yet another stab at the classic Sir Arthur Conan Doyle character, but with a twist!

While Benedict and RDJ have portrayed the detective in his prime, Ian’s film will see him as a much older gentleman who has one last mystery to solve… his own!

From the trailer, we deduce that Sherlock might be starting to go through early stages of dementia and needs to figure out a problem from his past before it’s too late.

Mr. Holmes doesn’t have an exact premiere date yet, but it was screened at the Berlin International Film Festival last month and could realistically be hitting your theater sometime this Spring.

Ch-ch-check out the trailer for Ian McKellen & Laura Linney‘s new movie (above)!!!
