Toy Story 4 Is NOT A Sequel To Toy Story 3! Wait, WHA???

no title

The announcement of another Toy Story movie surprised everyone, but wait until you hear the first plot deets!

According to Pixar President Jim Morris, the upcoming sequel won’t even REALLY be a sequel!

How’s that?

Whereas the first three movies were always tied to the relationship the toys had with Andy — leading them to their adventures — Toy Story 4 will pretty much abandon that device.

Morris tells Disney Latino:

“We are putting together a very nice story. It is not a continuation of the end of the story of Toy Story 3. TEMPORARILY it is, but it will be a love story. It will be a romantic comedy. It will not make much focus on the interaction between the characters and children. I think it will be a very good movie.”

A romantic comedy??

With the news that Rashida Jones and Will McCormack — who wrote Celeste And Jesse Forever — would be handling the script, we guess that shouldn’t be so surprising!

We just thought that after Toy Story 3 the movies would shift to the toys’ lives with new owner Bonnie. But not so; Morris explains:

“I think this movie is not part of [the] trilogy. It is a separate story, which in turn do not know if will be continued [sic].”

Does this news make U more or less excited about Toy Story 4??
