Alec Baldwin Was Offered Good Morning America Hosting Gig Way Back In 1994!

This would have been something to watch!

Alec Baldwin is mostly known for his work on 30 Rock, but there was another television show that Alec could’ve been a part of it seems.

The experienced actor apparently was offered a prime hosting gig in the business way back in 1994!

That job was for the gig of hosting Good Morning America — and it was when Alec was talking to George Stephanopoulos recently that this information came out!

Here’s what he said:

“I’ll never forget in 1994 I was in Tokyo and I was promoting this film and I get a phone call. I don’t want to go into the particulars of who was on the other end of the phone and how it all played out, but they basically said to me, ‘You know that Good Morning America was never more successful than when an actor hosted the show,’ which was David Hartman. And they said, ‘Would you consider becoming the host of Good Morning America, one of them?'”

But Alec didn’t take the GMA hosting job because he was worried what the motivation was for offering him this seemingly dream job!

He said:

“I was 36 years old. I wondered also, as we both know, if they were doing this to pressure someone to sign their contract who was holding out on a contract or something, because you never know whether people are using you for some other purpose. … I thought about that.”

That definitely seemed like a tough decision, but we think Alec made the right choice!

Otherwise we may never have seen him on 30 Rock, although at least we could’ve gotten our daily dose of Alec Baldwin extremely early in the morning!

That would’ve woken us up in the morning every day every time!!!
