We’ll take Jeopardy fails for $500, Alex!
During Wednesday night’s game of Jeopardy, a few challenging rounds of tough questions led to something very rare for the long time game show — only one contestant made it to the final round!
Blame it on the ca-a-a-a-a-ategories, or maybe just back luck, but two out of the three of the show’s contestants had a negative score when the “Double Jeopardy” round ended!
Which meant when it was time for Final Jeopardy, only one contestant was able to compete: a stay-at-home-mom from Delaware, Kristin Sausville.
Host Alex Trebek even dryly jokes about the rare occurrence, commenting:
“This was not one of our greatest days. Kristin, I think you’re going to win.”
The 34-year-old was more nervous than relieved to be the only one advancing to the final round! The contestant had this to say:
“It was more nerve-wracking to be the only person on stage. On the one hand, it was nice not to have to worry about what anyone else was wagering, but at the same time, it meant that all of the contestant coordinators, compliance people, and stage crew were standing around me.”
Sausville didn’t answer the final question correctly, but she still cashed out with a two-day total of $31,601!
Get it, girl!
