What the Fraggle!?
Looks like Joseph Gordon-Levitt is headed down to Fraggle Rock! It’s been reported that the Snowden actor will produce and star in a big screen adaptation of the late Jim Henson‘s 1983 musical puppet series!
The Fraggles have been eying the big screen for almost a decade. And even though no release date has been announced just yet, the fact that JGL has signed on is a good sign that we won’t have to wait too long!
The original show followed the adventures of cave-dwelling creatures called Fraggles who have to deal with fun-sucking Doozers and the giant Gorg family.
The 34-year-old actor has been a fan of Henson’s work for decades. The star said this on joining the project:
“The first screen personas I ever loved were Henson creations, first on ├óΓé¼╦£Sesame Street,’ and then on ├óΓé¼╦£Fraggle Rock,’. Jim Henson’s characters make you laugh and sing, but they’re also layered, surprising, and wise. From Oscar the Grouch, to Yoda, to the Fraggles. I’ve never stopped loving his work, even as a young frisky man, and on into adulthood. Collaborating with Lisa Henson makes me confident we can do something that Jim would have loved. I’m grateful and excited to be working with New Regency on this project.”
Details of the story are still under wraps, but this is definitely one adaptation we can’t wait to hear more about!
