David Copperfield’s Rooftop Pool Burst And Flooded The Midtown Apartment Building He Lives In!

Too bad his magic powers don’t fix flooding!

David Copperfield may have some unhappy neighbors these days as a rooftop pool he has totally burst and flooded not only his penthouse in the East 57th Street apartment building but also his neighbors’ apartments as far as 30 stories down.

The magician’s lawyer Ted Blumberg confirmed the flood was due to a malfunctioning pump and the damage was so bad that the elevators weren’t even working on the day it happened which was on March 8th.

And David’s stuff definitely got damaged from the water although he did dodge a bullet when it came to some of his more valuable items! His lawyer said:

“The pump malfunctioned, and the entire pool drained through David’s apartment and apartments below, right to the basement. Walls and floors were completely soaked. David was terrified, because he has these rare, vintage Coney Island machines, which are priceless, irreplaceable antiques, including a fortune teller, strength testers, an electric shock machine and shooting galleries. But for some unknown reason ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ or stroke of luck ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ these machines were spared by the water. There’s a magic trick called ├óΓé¼╦£The Bullet Catch,’ where the illusionist catches the bullet in his teeth, and David thinks he really dodged a bullet here.”

He may have dodged a bullet there but David’s lawyer isn’t so sure the illusionist will have the same type of luck when it comes to his neighbors!

When asked about potential lawsuits from persons who had their apartments damaged by the flooding, Copperfield’s lawyer said:

“The insurance company has been notified. This is New York City, so nothing would surprise us. The pool will be refilled, but first we have to make sure that there are fail-safe measures put into place to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”

Flood someone once, shame on you! If David’s pool floods homes twice, then his neighbors may forget the whole shaming thing and just start rioting!

Hopefully David Copperfield will host a pool party for all of his neighbors over the summer – that may help heal some of the hurt feelings he caused after his pool totally went bust!!!
