Baseball Player Gets Kicked Off College Team For Calling Mo’ne Davis A ‘Slut’ — And This Is How Mo’ne Responded

Baseball player calls Mo'ne Davis a 'slut'

When will people ever learn to think before they tweet!?

Joey Casselberry was a student athlete at Bloomsburg University. But his baseball career was taken away from him shortly after he sent out an offensive tweet about Little League World Series all-star Mo’ne Davis!

After learning that Disney would be making a movie based on the story of Davis, Casselberry reminded his followers about the 14-year-old’s loss against Nevada during the Little League World Series. The first baseman tweeted:

“Disney is making a movie about Mo’ne Davis? WHAT A JOKE. That slut got rocked by Nevada.”

Casselberry shortly realized his mistake and deactivated his account Saturday night. But what happens on the internet stays on the internet whether you like it or not!

People quickly took screenshots of the offensive tweet, causing the post to go viral and create a mound of backlash for the player. Bloomsburg University took to Twitter to address the issue:

Even if Casselberry thought it was a harmless joke, his school clearly didn’t! The player was shortly after dismissed from the Division II baseball team:

Whether he meant it as a joke or not, the student now knows not every thought that pops in his head should be broadcasted on the internet for everyone to see!

Before deleting his social media account, the student athlete tweeted an apology to his followers:

“An example that one stupid tweet can ruin someone’s life and I couldn’t be more sorry about my actions last night. I please ask you to forgive me and truly understand that I am in no way shape or form a sexist and I am a huge fan of Mo’ne. She was quite an inspiration.”

Mo’ne is handling the situation with maturity beyond her years. It’s been reported by TMZ that the baseball star has reached out to the president of Bloomsburg University and asked him to reinstate the baseball player!

Though Bloomsburg praised her for being mature about the issue and says they respect Davis’ opinion, the school is “standing firm” on their decision and will NOT reinstate the baseball player.

Casselberry was right about one thing — Davis is an inspiration!
