This is NOT the result they wanted.
Starbucks recently launched the Race Together campaign to try to get the coffee-drinking public talking about racial issues, and it didn’t go over so well.
After just one week, the coffee giant is scrapping the plan altogether… well, almost.
While “Race Together” will no longer be written on the cups, Starbucks is still going to hold forum discussions to encourage a broader conversation about race.
They will also co-produce sections of USA Today and are making an effort to place more of their franchises in communities where the population is largely minorities.
However, the execs at Starbucks maintain that their changes are NOT because of the criticism they have received; it’s just something that they’re doing.
