Yesterday, we reported on a building destroyed by a fiery explosion in the East Village of Manhattan which left over nineteen people injured.
It’s now come to light that one of the residents of the now collapsed apartments was Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Drea De Matteo!
During the fire, the former Sopranos star paid respect to the NYC firefighters who extinguished the flames on her Instagram:
NYC’s finest trying to put out the flames to mine n many others apartments ├░┼╕ΓÇÖΓÇ¥ Speechless… ├░┼╕Γäó┬Å├░┼╕Γäó┬Å├░┼╕Γäó┬Åfor those that are hurt ├░┼╕ΓÇÖΓÇ¥A photo posted by Drea De Matteo (@dreadematteo) on Mar 26, 2015 at 4:14pm PDT
After the fire was put out, the actress posted a picture of the “hole” where her home used to be, which was later regrammed by fashion designer Charlotte Ronson:

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but appears to be “gas-related” according to Mayor Bill de Blasio.
Our heart goes out to all those who have lost their homes because of the flames.
