One of Bill Cosby‘s former fans has had ENOUGH.
During Bill’s stand up routine at a venue in Baltimore on Friday night, a heckler interrupted the comedian’s set to confront him over the many rape allegations the 77-year-old has faced over the years.
The angered audience member shouted:
“38 women spoke up and called you a rapist. Tell the one about how to get away with rape.”
Wow. The man did not waste any time getting straight to the point.
After a few other audience members told the disgruntle man to be quiet, Bill chimed in saying:
“Just remain calm. We are here to enjoy my gift. We are not here to argue. Let those people speak. We will find them and ask them to leave.”
Honestly, we’re not surprised by Cosby’s non-confrontational response — the comedian rarely addresses the elephant in the room.
Shortly after the actor addressed the heckler, he was removed by security. Once outside, the brave man elaborated:
“I stood up to Bill Cosby tonight because I believe the 38 women who have come forward so far to accuse him of raping them. I can’t speak for those women, but I am determined to stand up with them and tell Mr. Cosby that he cannot simply avoid answering for those crimes. I wanted Cosby to have to face, even if only for a moment, that reality before security escorted me out and allowed him to retreat to the comfort and embrace of audience willing to ignore those women.”
Regardless of what your stance on Cosby may be, it’s clear the heckler is passionate and committed to his views!
While clear the heckling didn’t hit home for Bill, at least the enraged audience member was in good company outside the theater. By the show’s end, a decent sized crowd of people gathered around the venue to protest the Cosby Show star’s performance.
So, do YOU agree with the heckler?
