Now it’s being reported that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has officially signed on to lend his voice for the upcoming movie!!

The Furious 7 actor is set to play the character Maui, a legendary demi-god who Moana teams up with in order to find a fabled island in the ancient South Pacific!

Dwayne posted a picture on his Instagram of the official news, revealing:

“At DISNEY STUDIOS signing contracts to play the male lead in their next big classic animated musical, #MOANA. Just had an amazing 2hr presentation and it’s easy to see why they’re the greatest story tellers in the world. Im excited. And in the background my homies Fred & Wasabi from #BigHERO6 are jumpin’ for joy joy cause they heard I’m gonna sing in the movie.#WeTrulyKnowWhereWereGoing”

The best part of this announcement is that The Rock will be lending his voice to the film in more ways than one. The 42-year-old will be singing in the film as well!

That’s right, SINGING!

In case you didnt know, the WWE star has a pretty good voice:

After all, throat muscles are still muscles, right?

We’re so excited for The Rock to join the cast of Moana, due in theaters November 2016!!
