We’re thinking about Big Ang!
Earlier this week, we reported that doctors discovered a large tumor — the size of a lemon — on the Mob Wives star’s voicebox.
Not too long after that discovery and extensive blood tests, did medical professionals come to the conclusion that the growth is reportedly cancerous.
Ang’s sister, Janine Detore, says the family is waiting for the results of another test to see if the cancer has spread.
While there’s no history of cancer in their family, Janine is afraid Ang’s 42 years of smoking may have contributed to the tumor — which led doctors to order the reality star to stop lighting up ASAP.
This health ordeal has not been filmed for Mob Wives, but Detore says it may be addressed at some point on the show.
Janine said as of right now:
“We are hoping for the best and are focusing on getting through the holiday. We love the fans and want to thank them.”
Ang is scheduled to have surgery sometime next week to remove the large growth.
Although her sister opened up about the situation to TMZ, the reality star took to her Facebook to explain what was going on in her own words to her fans.
“Hi my babies! I am finally able to take a moment to speak to you all. First off, my apologies that you had to find out about my condition from every other outlet but me. This was never my intent, but unfortunately it got out there. Secondly, I want to clarify the rumors that I am hospitalized. I went in for a test due to the nodule in my throat. I had a nerve wracking couple of days, as would anyone when you hear testing etc… However, I am home peaceful and relaxing. This coming week I will be taking proper precautions and having it removed. I do want to say that you have all been on my mind every step of the way and I am so thankful to each and every one of you for the love, support, prayers and most of all positive wishes. Big Ang isn’t going anywhere! This is a minor setback, but I promise you this… I already have some BIG things in the world and will be returning to your TVs very soon. Always look after yourselves and don’t neglect your health. I’m fortunate and blessed to have discovered something very early, and handle it in a positive manner. I thank you and I love you all from the bottom of my heart. Stay posted in the coming days, I will give you all updates. xoxoxox”
While Ang didn’t necessarily say if the tumor was cancerous or not, we’re glad she was able to catch it early before it became a bigger deal.
Here’s to a quick and easy recovery!
