Bruce Jenner’s Docuseries Will Be Serious But Also Include Humor — The Olympian Will Learn To Golf With Breasts

There’s already a lot of speculation (and criticism) on Bruce Jenner‘s upcoming docuseries that will chronicle his transition.

It’s been reported that the series will feature its share of poignant, astonishing moments that bring awareness. But the show will also include some lighthearted fun as well — including watching Bruce adjust his golf swing with breasts!

Sources affiliated with the production explain that the goal of the 8-part docuseries is to raise awareness and educate people and to provide hope and inspiration others struggling with gender identity.

But with inspiration, it’s important to show that it’s still okay to laugh. During his 20/20 interview, the Olympian told Diane Sawyer that the funny moments are just as vital as the serious ones, explaining:

“One thing that’s so important in this whole process is, we have to keep our sense of humor about this, okay?”

This is the reason that the production wants to showcase a delicate balance between “the dark moments, the lighthearted moments and moments that are just plain hilarious.”

Though Bruce’s golf game is set to be a topic on the show, so is the cosmetic side of his transition. A production source had this to say about what to expect:

“There will be a happy medium. Bruce has a great sense of humor and it will be showcased. But the show will deal with the very serious issues Bruce is committed to showing.”

We think that’s a great balance to provide hope, inspiration, education and laughter — and we can’t think of anyone better to lead the way than the Olympian!

( From Perez: Bruce stated in the interview to use “he” and “him” so we will do so in our coverage until that changes. )
