She can’t stop, won’t stop fighting for everyone’s rights!
On Tuesday, Miley Cyrus officially launched The Happy Hippie Foundation, which is dedicated to fighting for communities facing injustice, like the homeless and LGBT youth.
The pop star has been pretty public about her political activism in the past. She gave up her 2014 VMA acceptance speech to raise awareness for the homeless, and sicked her Smilers on Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton for his anti-gay beliefs.
But now, with the launch of her very own foundation, she’s kicking things up a notch.
Miley teamed up with Facebook to give her foundation a massive platform to spread awareness and raise funds for these issues that she hopes to take a Wrecking Ball to.
The Happy Hippie Foundation will bring back the singer’s wildly popular Backyard Sessions, which will be posted exclusively on Facebook, along with a direct link to donate to the cause.
Miley’s inaugural Happy Hippie jam sesh features none other than the iconic Joan Jett, who she only recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! The duo teamed up to sing Different, off Joan’s 2013 LP.
The Bangerz singer has also enlisted Ariana Grande among other artists to participate in her revamped Backyard Sessions.
Be sure to check out Miley’s duet with Joan (below) and donate if you can!
