Is Ava DuVernay going to make the leap from Selma to superheroes?? She will if Marvel gets their way!
According to The Wrap, the comic book movie powerhouse wants the acclaimed director to take on one of their next big projects.
According to insiders, they’ve already had a few meetings!
After making the decision based on the will of the fans to add Black Panther and Captain Marvel movies to their Phase 3 lineup, it seems they’re also intent on putting some diversity behind the camera.
DuVernay would be the Marvel cinematic universe’s first African American AND first female director (after Patty Jenkins dropped out of Thor: The Dark World due to creative differences).
But if she does join the Marvel team, which of their big new franchises will she helm?
According to rumor, 2018’s Black Panther is more likely. But we’ll just have to see!
