UPDATE 1:52 EST: According to a new report, Robinson’s cause of death was “suicide by hanging” as told by the Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s Office.
On Saturday, former NFL player Adrian Robinson Jr. passed away at age 25. His cause of death was not released at this time.
The linebacker played 12 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers back in 2012 after graduating from Temple University. He then played a short stint for the Philadelphia Eagles before being picked up by the Denver Broncos.
Robinson played with the Colorado team in 2013 during the first half of their season before making it to the Super Bowl. But the team waived the linebacker for another player.
Robinson’s agency Symmetry released a statement on their Facebook page:
Our hearts go out to his daughter Avery and the rest of Robinson’s family.
