Soon, those powerful pipes will be back in action!
The Latch singer is expected to make a full recovery, thanks to the brilliant work of Dr. Steven Zeitels!
He had his operation at the notable Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston last week.
The hospital explained that the musician needed to surgery to stop his vocal chords from bleeding:
“Sam Smith underwent vocal cord microsurgery by Dr. Steven Zeitels to stop recurrent vocal cord hemorrhage. This condition is the result of unstable blood vessels in the vocal cord that can rupture and prevent vocal performance.”
But, Sam got help from the best of the best, since MGH said that Dr. Zietals “pioneered many vocal cord surgery procedures for benign and malignant problems, including the use of specialized lasers to stop vocal cord bleeding in singers.”
We’re thrilled that he’ll be back to normal soon enough!
Oh, and did we mention it’s his birthday?!
All the more reason to celebrate!
