One of the highlights during this week’s show was The Court of Public Opinion, where Schumer played defense attorney to the comedy legend in a fictional trial for his alleged sexual abuse.
The comedienne’s defense tactics were pretty solid. After playing a clip of The Cosby Show, she handed out pudding pops and Huxtable-esque sweaters to the jury!
The best part of the sketch was Schumer’s closing argument, that we the people didn’t deserve to be burdened by the guilt of watching any future Cosby Show reruns. She concluded:
“Ladies and gentlemen, at this point Bill Cosby probably can’t get in any legal trouble. That’s not what this is about. This is about us not punishing ourselves for loving great comedy.”
