After A Year Off The Field & A Plea Of Child Abuse, Adrian Peterson Is Retuning To The Minnesota Vikings!

Adrian Peterson is returning to football after a year away amid a child abuse scandal!

It appears that after a year off from football amid a child abuse scandal, and later a contract dispute, Adrian Peterson is returning to practice with his team, the Minnesota Vikings.

Peterson spoke to reporters via email early Tuesday morning, outlining his commitment to the team and the game:

“I’ve been away from the game for an entire season. I wanted the chance to be around the players and coaches, the guys that really matter to me. I understand this is a business. Clearly there were a lot of emotions involved, but I will only be better from the situation. I have a role to play and the Vikings have one as well. It’s time to move forward and put my energy and focus on preparing for the season.”

Peterson, a running back, had been suspended without pay last season after his child abuse came to light, when he pled no contest on a misdemeanor for repeatedly striking his 4-year-old with a wooden switch as discipline.

Only after working out the issue with commissioner Roger Goodell and the Vikings’ management — and working through his misgivings about his hefty contract — has he been able to return to football.

While AP may have avoided jail time in the abuse case, he still had to pay a significant fine to the NFL, and his reputation was undoubtedly tarnished.

What do U think — did Peterson get off easy spending just one year away from football with no jail time after hitting his child?!
