Hey Geraldo Rivera — maybe Twitter isn’t the venue for you?
The news man — who is probably best remembered on social media for posting a naked bathroom selfie — couldn’t resist wading into the Caitlyn Jenner story.
The 71-year-old Fox News journalist decided Tuesday would be the perfect time to weigh in on the reality TV star’s big reveal, and he did so with a dud of a tweet aimed at Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries:
2 words of warning to those defending the sincerity & selfless sacrifice of Bruce Caitlyn Jenner’s dramatic transformation: Kris Humphries

That’s so ignorant and offensive it need not be addressed.
But… Caitlyn herself already addressed it in the Vanity Fair piece! She told writer Buzz Bissinger:
“[People say] ‘Oh, she’s doing a stupid reality show. She’s doing it for the money. She’s doing this, she’s doing that.’ I’m not doing it for money. I’m doing it to help my soul and help other people. If I can make a dollar, I certainly am not stupid. [I have] house payments and all that kind of stuff. I will never make an excuse for something like that. Yeah, this is a business. You don’t go out and change your gender for a television show. O.K., it ain’t happening. I don’t care who you are. It ain’t happening, O.K.? You don’t do it.”
So, let’s review: Caitlyn addresses those who specifically believe she’s transitioning for fame or fortune, acknowledges it, and denies it.
And then, Rivera makes an insensitive tweet about transitioning for fame rather than personal reasons, without first bothering to check if Caitlyn had already addressed his hypothesis.
Great work, Geraldo. You’re really knocking ’em dead with this whole “journalism” thing…
