Someone call Olivia Pope on behalf of Connor Cruise!

On Wednesday, Tom Cruise‘s son took to Twitter to express his frustration over Caitlyn Jenner being selected as the 2015 recipient for the ESPYsArthur Ashe Courage Award.

He initially posted:

“Really?? Winning the AA award for courage?? Ashton is gonna come out and yell PUNK’D.

Don’t get me wrong. Do what you feel like doing and don’t let anyone stop you. But everyone is taking this way too seriously├óΓé¼┬ªThere are so many more important things that should be talked about├óΓé¼┬ªAnd SO MANY MORE IMPORTANT PEOPLE that actually deserve an award.

Like the fact that we are overfishing and in 30 years there will be no more fish. Seems dumb but 85 percent of the worlds protein is fish. That’s one of thousands of things that should be of a higher importance than what is currently being gone over├óΓé¼┬ªOr what about the fact that our planet is becoming less habitable on a daily basis. Yet the population is increasing at an alarming rate├óΓé¼┬ªOr the fact that we all can’t even get a long on earth lol. We fight and kill each other. We have war and poverty. This needs to change.”

His rant kind of took a bizarre — or is that just us?!

The 20-year-old has since deleted the posts and taken to the social media site to clarify his opinion.

He shared:

Yikes! You’re not really helping your case, Connor!

Though his initial thoughts were met with criticism — some followers agreed with Hollywood icon’s son’s sentiment.

A few expressed that college basketball star, Lauren Hill who lost her battle against brain cancer earlier this year or Dancing With the Stars alum Noah Galloway, the army veteran who lost his arm and leg to a roadside bomb in Iraq, should’ve been front-runners for the award.

Nonetheless, most fans positively received the news that the former Olympian would be honored.

We understand he was just trying to highlight that there are other issues that should be addressed — but this is Caitlyn’s moment — let’s let her revel in it for a bit longer!
