Caitlyn Jenner Can Keep Her Gold Medal Despite Online Petition To Strip Her Of Olympic Glory — GOOD!

Well, Caitlyn Jenner is still an Olympic hero, as she should be!

An online petition gathered nearly 15,000 signatures during the week, asking the International Olympic Committee to strip Jenner’s gold medal, considering she won it in 1976 as a man.

The IOC has weighed in, though, and they won’t be doing anything like it, telling reporters:

“Bruce Jenner won his gold medal in the 1976 Olympic Games and there is no issue for the IOC.”

Yay! Thankfully this is one issue the IOC got right.

The good news kept coming for Jenner, though, who was inducted — as Bruce — to the United States Olympic Hall of Fame back in 1986.

The Hall of Fame is now telling reporters that should Caitlyn want to change her name in the hall’s materials, all she has to do is file a formal request!

It’s amazing to see that, despite some unfortunate reactions to Caitlyn’s reveal, virtually everyone has been supportive, open, and secure about it.

Just like it should be!
