Brian Williams‘ future at NBC is still up in the air, but it doesn’t look like his return to anchor Nightly News is in the cards!
It’s been reported that there’s a good chance Williams will lose his job as anchor in the wake of the long running investigation into his infamous on-air fibbing that got him suspended.
But executives at NBC are still looking to keep the 56-year-old at the network, though they have yet to agree on a suitable role for the troublemaker. One source explained:
“Brian’s six-month suspension is over in early August, and NBC chiefs are under pressure to come up with a solution. The talks are complicated and are ongoing, and there has not yet been a deal. But it is likely he won’t be back in the ├óΓé¼╦£Nightly’ anchor chair. A decision could be made as early as this week, if all sides can reach an agreement.”
Hopefully, B-Dubs and the executives can come to an agreement for the seasoned anchor to stay on with the NBC family.
If not, the journalist has promised he wouldn’t go down without a fight, and would have to be paid out a huge chunk of his contract — which is worth about $10 million a year for five years!
