What sad news.
On Friday, it was revealed that Ernie Reyes, who played Keno in 1991’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, is in desperate need of a kidney transplant.
According to Ernie’s friends, the actor is suffering from kidney failure and is currently “undergoing dialysis treatment 3 times per week for 4 hours a day”. Obviously the rigorous treatment has taken a major toll on his health and emotional well-being. Not to mention the actor has racked up INSANE medical bills during this harrowing time.
Reyes’ family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with the bills and to provide the TMNT much needed support.
A family member pleaded:
“Ernie is currently undergoing dialysis treatment 3 times per week for 4 hours a day while waiting for a kidney transplant. This is a very challenging time not only for Ernie Jr.’s immediate family, but a challenging time for our family as well. Please be aware that he needs support during this time of need and recovery of his life.”
Wow. we can’t even begin to imagine how difficult this process must be for E.R. AND his loved ones.
Ernie’s brother added:
“My brother has spent his entire childhood and adult life fighting in films and television, but now his battle has gone from the screen to reality, fighting for his life. Regardless of where you have seen or heard of Ernie Reyes Jr., he has impacted people’s lives all over the world through his extraordinary performances in television and film. Thank you for your support.”
Thankfully the page has already raised 37K and we hope the family raises A LOT more!!
