Jurassic World scored a record breaking performance at the domestic box office this weekend! Universal‘s fourth installment of the dinosaur franchise generated $208.8 million, making it the biggest movie opening of all time!
The Chris Pratt blockbuster just beat out the $207.4 million opening earned by The Avengers in 2012.
Though, Marvel isn’t too upset about getting knocked down from the No. 1 spot — in fact, they congratulated their successor in a very classy way!
Kevin Feige, Marvel chief, shared this photo (above) on his Twitter on Tuesday, saying:
The photo (above) features the The Avengers heroes looking on at Pratt majestically riding a T-Rex — who in it’s tiny arms is grasping Thor’s hammer!
It’s no surprise Pratt is getting love from Marvel, as he plays the lead role in the studio’s hit film Guardians of the Galaxy!
Feige also congratulated Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow, producers Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall.
We think it’s great how these studio executives can put aside their differences and congratulate each other on making so much money! Yay blockbusters!
