We hope you were all full of good TV, fans.
Because NBC has cancelled Hannibal.
The network confirmed on Monday that the current third season will officially be the series’ last.
Series creator Bryan Fuller, no stranger to cancellation after the untimely demise of cult hit Pushing Daisies, took the news with grace, saying:
“NBC has allowed us to craft a television series that no other broadcast network would have dared, and kept us on the air for three seasons despite Cancellation Bear Chow ratings and images that would have shredded the eyeballs of lesser Standards & Practices enforcers. Jen Salke and her team have been fantastic partners and creatively supportive beyond measure. Hannibal is finishing his last course at NBC’s table this summer, but a hungry cannibal can always dine again. And personally, I look forward to my next meal with NBC.”
We’re guessing Bryan has learned from all his cannibal research that it doesn’t pay to bite the hand that feeds! LOLz!
Season 3 thus far has marked a series low in the ratings department — as well as in the surviving characters total.
Not a surprise, but still sad. Sorry, Fannibals!
