This could be very exciting!

A new report has surfaced that the character of Janet Van Dyne will be showing up as the Wasp in Ant-Man!

Now we don’t know who’s playing Janet, but if the film follows suit with the comics, Janet’s character was married to Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and she becomes the Wasp, the shrinking, flying superheroine!

On a set visit, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was asked about the film and some of its details –including whether or not the Wasp would be appearing — and he revealed:

“It factors in in a number of spoilerish ways, but we will see Janet Van Dyne in action in this film, and part of sort of what happened to her – and then we will understand why that is the reason that [Hank] doesn’t want his daughter to follow in those footsteps.”

He goes on to say of the character of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly):

“Hope is infinitely more capable of actually being a superhero in the beginning of this film, and we learn sort of, that’s ultimately when Hank reveals for the first time, to the audience and even the first time to Hope, what actually happened in the past, and why he’s so nervous about putting on that suit.”

So it sounds like we’ll get quite the backstory about the super-suits and we’re guessing it’s going to be a heartbreaker!

But what about Evangeline?! Is she going to kick some butt or what? Well, Feige went on to say:

“There are things that we see towards the end of the film that indicate she could get one of her own.”

So maybe not this round, but if this little blockbuster does what pretty much ever other Marvel movie has so far, we’re willing to bet we’ll see Lilly suiting up sooner rather than later!

What do you think? Are you excited about the Wasp showing up in some capacity in Ant-Man or could you care less?
