Super sad news from the television world…
According to reports, longtime actor Dick Van Patten died Tuesday morning due to complications from diabetes.
The 86-year-old was a TV legend, best known for his work as Tom Bradford on the classic series Eight Is Enough.
He recently worked on shows like Hot In Cleveland, Arrested Development, That ’70s Show, and many more. He had also appeared in very well-known films like High Anxiety, Spaceballs, and Robin Hood: Men In Tights.
Van Patten’s publicist Jeff Ballard spoke highly of the late star:
“He was the kindest man you could ever meet in life. They don’t make them like him anymore.”
Van Patten, who was born in New York City, made his theater debut on Broadway as a seven-year-old before moving to Hollywood and working the rest of his life as an actor.
Van Patten is survived by three sons and his wife, Pat. Our thoughts are with his family.
