Are we dreaming?!
It looks like the creators of Cruel Intentions: The Musical — currently running at The Rockwell in Los Angeles — already have their next project lined up: The O.C. Musical!
That’s right! A musical based on the 2003-07 Fox hit about drama in the wealthy upper class suburb of Newport Beach!
Creators Jordan Ross and Lindsey Rosin silently created a brand new Twitter account for the production and have been dropping hints for weeks.
But on Wednesday they made it official by tweeting out that the show will be a one night only performance that takes place on August 30th in Los Angeles!
We still don’t have a location, but we do know some of the cast! The character of Luke Ward has already been cast and will be played by Drew Seeley (the national tour of Jersey Boys), Christine Lakin (TV’s Step By Step and Veronica Mars) will play Kirsten Cohen, and Jarett Wieselman (Senior Editor of Entertainment at Buzzfeed News) will be playing the character of Josh Schwartz — who is the real-life creator of The O.C.!
The Twitter account also teased us with the following tiniest bit of their script from the show:
Trust us, the minute we find out when and where we can get tickets we’ll be updating you, because there’s no way we want to miss this sure-fire hit!
